Schaumburg is a village in Cook County, north-east Illinois. Schaumburg is located just under 30 miles north-west of Chicago. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 75,386. As of 2005, the population dropped slightly to 72,690, according to the Census Bureau. A special census conducted by Schaumburg in 2007 determines it had actually increased to 75,936.
