For example, Frank is associated with the writer Elmore Leonard after his adaptations of two of Leonard's work (Get Shorty and Out of Sight) were greeted with much acclaim. His solo work on the screenplay for Out of Sight was nominated for an Academy Award and received an Edgar Award, a National Society of Film Critics Award, and a Writers Guild of America Award.
