As the game's title indicates, the character designs are rendered in the "super deformed" style with child-like small bodies and big heads, instead of the realistic style used in the original Snatcher. As with most RPGs of the time, the game is comprised of overhead exploration of areas and menu-driven turn-based combat scenes. The combat system uses a first-person perspective that allows the player to aim at specific body parts of an enemy and disable certain characteristics. For example: shooting a robot's wheel will render the robot immobile, making him less likely to avoid the player's gunfire.
