Seamonsters is the third studio album by Leeds, England group The Wedding Present. It was recorded within 10 days by Steve Albini at Pachyderm Studio in Cannon Falls, Minnesota in early 1991. Albini had previously recorded 2 EPs with the group, Brassneck and 3 Songs and, like those records, Seamonsters has a rougher, harsher overall sound than the group's earlier records. All of the songs have one-word titles in deliberate contrast to the full sentences that were found on several previous recordings, something for which the group had often been parodied within the music press. The album enjoyed a positive critical reception but guitarist Peter Solowka was sacked between the recording and the release of the album. He was replaced by Paul Dorrington.
All songs written by David Gedge unless otherwise noted.
The album has been remastered and reissued with the additional songs found on the 3 Songs EP and the Dalliance and Lovenest singles being added to the running order.
