Sergio Battistini

Sergio Battistini (born 7 May 1963 in Massa) is a retired Italian footballer who played for AC Milan, Fiorentina, Inter Milan, Brescia and Spezia. He also competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics. On 20 January 1985 in a league match against Udinese Calcio, Battistini was injured and had to be substituted at half-time. His replacement was the legendary Paolo Maldini, who made his Milan debut. Maldini remained at the club until 2009.
