Shan State (Burmese: ရှမ်းပြည်နယ်; Shan: IPA: [mœ́ŋ tɑ́ɪ]) is a state of Burma (Myanmar). Shan State borders China to the north, Laos to the east, and Thailand to the south, and five administrative divisions of Burma in the west.
