Taylor was educated at the Astor School in Dover and spent two years at South Kent College, Ashford, taking a theatre studies and communications course. He then attended the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and received the Cameron Mackintosh Scholarship Award.
He has appeared in episodes of TV series such as Where the Heart Is and Comedy Lab. He voices the character "Goh" in the 2006 video game Shinobido: Way of the Ninja. Taylor is currently in production of the 2009 film Bomber.
He is married to Ashley McKinney, and they have two children.
