She began her musical career in the early 1980s, performing backing vocals and keyboards for Scottish band Goodbye Mr. Mackenzie before being signed in 1993 as a solo artist, recording as Angelfish. After seeing Manson in an Angelfish video on MTV, Garbage invited Manson to record with the band for one album, the multiple Grammy Award nominated Garbage. Manson recorded a further three studio albums and toured worldwide as the frontperson of Garbage, racking up 12 million record sales over ten years.
