Silambarasan acted on Tamil films as a child artist in his father T. Rajendar's films like Monisha En Monalisa, Sabash Babu, Rajadi Rajavan, and Thiruvalla in minor roles. His debut in movies as a hero came in the form of Kaadhal Azhivathillai, a Tamil language movie. The film was followed by Dum and Kuthu. Both of the films did not make it big at the box office.
