Simon Gregson (born Simon Gregory on 2 October 1974 in Wythenshawe, Manchester) is an English actor and is a cast member of the British popular soap opera Coronation Street as Steve McDonald.

When the group was asked if anybody had done any television acting before, Nicholas Cochrane (who would become Andy McDonald) replied that he had already been employed as an extra by Granada Television on a previous television programme.
When the talent scouts were told this, Nicholas was selected out of the class and a search was on for another class member who had the same height, build and hair colouring as Nicholas and had participated in acting before the search.
