Xindian City, (Traditional Chinese: 新店市) is a city in the southern part of Taipei County in northern Taiwan (ROC). Sindian is the Tongyong Pinyin spelling of the city's name, official before January 1, 2009. Xindian is a satellite city of Taipei with a high percentage of its population commuting to the city for work. In 2009 the entire county will become a city in its own right: a special municipality called New Taipei.
