Sir Wilfrid Laurier Elementary School is located in the Marpole community on 57th Avenue at Laurel Street. It was named for Sir Wilfrid Laurier, the Prime Minister of Canada from 1896 to 1911.
The building has a library, a multipurpose room/cafeteria, and a gym/auditorium. There are two portable classrooms that are adjacent to the building. There used to be three portables, but around Halloween time in 1996, one of the portables was burnt down.

An extension to the south of the main school building was constructed around 1998. This new extension was part of a project to make the school wheelchair-accessible. Part of this extension was an automatic door at the ground level, an elevator for access to ground, first, and second floors and an emergency exit from the second floor. In addition, a wheelchair lift was constructed to provide access to the gymnasium for the disabled. A new emergency exit was also constructed as part of the south extension.
