Sviatoslav "Slava" Pestov (born 3 March 1984) is the creator of the Factor programming language and jEdit, a popular text editor. Pestov was born in Tomsk, now in Russia. He lived for 10 years in New Zealand before moving to Canberra, Australia, and from there to Ottawa, Ontario for college. He now resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Pestov holds a MSc degree in Mathematics from the University of Ottawa.
