Sorcin (soluble resistance-related calcium-binding protein) is an evolutionarily conserved 198 amino acid, penta-EF hand (PEF) calcium-binding protein. It has a relative molecular mass of 22,000 (Mr 22K) and is widely expressed in many tissues. It was previously designated V19 or CP22. The associated gene symbol is SRI.
