Spirits of the Dead

"Spirits of the Dead" (1827), originally titled "Visits of the Dead" is a poem by American author and poet Edgar Allan Poe, first published in Poe's first collection of poems, "Tamerlane and Other Poems".The poem tells of a dialogue between a dead speaker and a visitor to his grave., and begins with:Thy soul shall find itself alone 'Mid dark thoughts of the grey tomb-stone; Not one, of all the crowd, to pry Into thine hour of secrecy.
