St Margaret’s Church Of England School has been part of the Horsforth community since 1780 and has strong links with St. Margaret’s Church. In 1850, it became known as Horsforth National School and in 1953 it became known as St. Margaret’s Church of England controlled Infant and Junior. Then in 1995 Woodside Church of England junior school became part of an enlarged St.Margaret’s School. The whole school was moved to temporary blocks on some of Horsforth School's fields in 2004 until a new school building was finished in 2005. The new building incorporated parts of the listed building of the old school and was wholly rebuilt and refurbished.
After the building was completed the school, having previously been only a junior school for 7-11 year-olds, merged with Woodside to create a full primary school all on one site. A nursery called Ducklings was also created, catering for...
