Steven Lynn "Steve" Beshear (born September 21, 1944) is an American politician who has been Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky since 2007. Steve Beshear was born September 21, 1944 in Dawson Springs, Kentucky and graduated from Dawson Springs High School. He attended the University of Kentucky, where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta social fraternity. He graduated from UK with a B.A. in 1966 and earned a law degree there in 1968.
Beshear and his wife, Jane, were married in 1969. They have two sons, Jeff and Andy, and one grandson, Nicholas.
