Prior to joining FivePrime, Dr. Doberstein served as Vice President, Research at Xencor, where he led protein and antibody engineering work in the areas of inflammation, oncology, bone diseases, and immunology. Prior to joining Xencor, he held a variety of positions at Exelixis, including Director of Pharmaceutical Target Research and Director, Cell Biology. Dr. Doberstein was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, and received his Ph.D. from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
