Steve Jordan (born January 14, 1957) is an American multi-instrumentalist, composer and record producer from New York City. A graduate of the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, Jordan has worked as a session musician for a wide range of artists. He released an instructional program for drummers called The Groove is Here. Recently, he became known as a member, songwriter and co-producer of the John Mayer Trio. He has spent a significant amount of his career backing other musicians, including Eric Clapton in his house band for the Crossroads Guitar Festival, and recording with others such as Keith Richards in the studio, while continuing to work a busy schedule as a record producer.
