He is an expert auto mechanic, is very good at stealing hubcaps, and is a tough fighter, having once held off four Socs with a busted Coke bottle. He is often inconsiderate and once nearly had his jaw busted by Darry for a disparaging remark. He combs his hair into complicated swirls and, in the movie, is portrayed as having an eagle tattoo on his left shoulder.
He busts his lip and bruises some ribs at the rumble, but is still able to run afterwards. He is present with the rest of the gang to witness the death of Dallas Winston.
