He is best known as the creator of the computer software program make for UNIX systems. He was also an author of the first Fortran 77 compiler, and he was part of the original group at Bell Labs that created the Unix operating system. Until recently, he was the Vice President of Computer Science at IBM Research. He is currently Vice President, Engineering, East Coast, at Google. Feldman has served on the board of the Computing Research Association (CRA) and of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International).
