The game uses the same concept design, that is featured in Super Monkey Ball 2. Every level is named after its background.
It includes twelve mini-games taken from its predecessors: Race, Fight, Target, Billiards, Bowling, Golf, Boat, Shot, Dogfight, Soccer, Baseball and Tennis. The Dole advertisements from the GameCube originals are not included in this game and are removed from Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2 levels. Super Monkey Ball Deluxe achieved Greatest Hits (Playstation 2) and Platinum Hits (Xbox) sales milestones.
