Susan's career started in Syracuse, New York in 1980 at the age of 18 when she started the Central New York Academy of Dance Arts . She ran the entire business herself and her students won many state and national dance awards. In 1995, she sold the dance school to her brother Robert Featherly and his wife Nancy. Susan still returns to the school occasionally to teach classes.
Susan moved to California to be an actress. She began her acting career in the mid-1990s in late-night adult cable TV shows like Hot Line and Erotic Confessions. She went on to star in several direct-to-video (and direct to cable) softcore movies that were also adult related in content.
