In June 2009, it was revealed that Cowell plans to go into business with retail billionaire and long time friend, Sir Philip Green. Syco will be merged into what will be called Greenwell Entertainment. However, the exact details have yet to be confirmed. Green recently stated that he expects the company to be up and running by the end of 2009 .
