Sylvanus Bowser

Sylvanus Bowser (died 1938) is widely credited with inventing the automobile fuel pump. Bowser Avenue in his hometown of Fort Wayne, Indiana is named after him. Bowser, marketed his patented kerosene pump starting in 1885.
