Takapuna is a central, coastal suburb of North Shore City, located in the northern North Island of New Zealand, at the beginning of a south-east-facing peninsula forming the northern side of the Waitemata Harbour. While very small in terms of population, it is the seat of the North Shore City Council and contains substantial shopping and entertainment areas, being considered the CBD of North Shore City.
