The show premiered on April 13, 2007 from 8:00-9:00 p.m. CET. It aired on Fridays for a total of eight shows during the first season. The show was hosted by Swedish TV-sports personality Peppe Eng and judged by magician Tobbe Blom, singer Hanna Hedlund and record label owner Bert Karlsson.
All of the shows were prerecorded except for the final program (episode 8), which was 1.5 hours long and broadcast live.
Season two Talang 2008 will be the second season of the show on TV4.
The show became an instant success and was consistently one of the top three televised shows in Sweden each week.
