The cartoon opens on a golf course. As the camera pans across the course, there is carnage: patches of grass are missing, posts are broken, golf clubs are bent out of shape and we hear the sound of a golf club striking a ball over and over. As the camera pans, we ironically see a "PLEASE REPLACE DIVOTS" sign, and that Tom is trying to hit a ball out of a giant divot. He excavates deeper into the hole and finally hits the ball out on his 51st attempt. When Tom takes the flag out of the hole, the ball promptly drops itself in...and quickly bounces out. Tom is surprised by this, and lifts the green, rolling the ball into the hole. When the ball is thrown out again, Tom then putts the ball into the hole, with no improvement. At the edge of frustration, the cat shoves the ball into the hole and pounds the end...
