Unlike the previous films, the Jim Henson's Creature Shop did not provide the advanced animatronics, which garnered criticism from fans of the previous movies.
Conspicuous by his absence in this entire movie is The Shredder (having being crushed to death in the previous movie), the arch nemesis of the Turtles in all previous installments (both animated and live action). Shredder is never seen, or even mentioned (unlike in TMNT).
