The Alaska Experiment is a Discovery Channel reality television series. The first season of the series followed 10 individuals as they tried to survive in Alaska during the fall and winter. The series is produced by Ricochet. The series has been extended into its second season, now called Out of The Wild The Alaska Experiment. The First episode aired on April 14, 2009. While the first season had the ten participants broken up into four separate groups, the second season has all nine working together. They also must hike to a different location through difficult Alaskan terrain every few days.
In the Season 2 finale of Out of the Wild, only four people remained. They were given a new map showing a 14-mile trek to their next stop.
