The Business is a 2005 British drama/crime/gangster film written and directed by Nick Love, who performed the same duties on The Football Factory and Outlaw. The film stars Danny Dyer, Tamer Hassan, Geoff Bell and Georgina Chapman. The plot of The Business follows the Greek tragedy-like rise and fall of a young cockney's career within a drug importing business run by a group of British ex-pat fugitive criminals living on the coast of the Costa del Sol (aka the "Costa del Crime") in Spain.
The Business, set during the 1980s, has been described as the "British version of the cult film Scarface" as the two films have a very similar plot and themes, and there are numerous references to Scarface in the film. The film was produced by Vertigo Films on a £2.1 million budget, shot mostly in Almuñécar, Granada, Andalucía, Spain, and the film was distributed by Pathé.
