In 1922, Cairo, derelict archaeologist Danny Freemont (Casper Van Dien) searches for the tomb of King Tut and the last of four pieces of an ancient emerald tablet rumored to possess great occult powers. His ruthless academic rival, Morgan Sinclair (Jonathan Hyde), has stolen the first three pieces on behalf of the Hellfire Council, a secret cabal of powerful men who plan to use the tablet to maintain and extend their world domination. Freemont has only his witty determination and a band of adventurers, including the brilliant, but skeptical, Egyptologist Dr. Azelia Barakat (Leonor Varela).
