The series follows Boycie (John Challis), his wife Marlene (Sue Holderness) and their son Tyler after their sudden move from Peckham to escape the London Mafia and their attempt to live in rural Shropshire.
Sue Holderness, who plays Marlene, stated in 2009 that the cast were praying that a fifth series would be commissioned as Sullivan might involve some characters from the original series. However, in May 2009 The Mirror reported the series had been shelved after the fourth series was broadcast.
