George picks up the habit of swearing from some visiting Houston Astros representatives, specifically "bastard" and "son of a bitch". During the time of the New York City Marathon, Elaine has a Trinidadian & Tobogan runner named Jean-Paul Jean-Paul as her house guest. She routinely mispronounces his name and when Seinfeld finally tells her this, she tries to skirt around the problem by asking if she can call Jean-Paul Joe instead. Jean-Paul had overslept and missed the big race at the last Olympic Games, and Jerry obsesses with ensuring that it doesn't happen again. Jean-Paul hears George swearing, and he thinks that's how all Americans talk. He notices that Elaine has difficulty setting clocks.
