The In Crowd is a 2000 thriller film directed by Mary Lambert. It is about a young woman, recently released from a psychiatric hospital, who becomes close friends with the wealthy and charismatic leader of the in crowd, only to learn that her new friend may not be as perfect as she seems. Adrien Williams is released from a psychiatric hospital; her doctor, Henry Thompson feels that she has been cured of her erotomania (the details of which are not revealed until much later in the film) and gets her a job at his exclusive country club. As she is settling in to her new job, she meets many new people, discovering the sharp separation between the "help" (which consists of her co-workers) and the "in crowd" (the wealthy and beautiful younger members of the club).
