From 1984, every album was a collaboration with producer Brent Maher and the prolific Nashville musician Don Potter.
In 1991, Naomi was forced to retire due to a bout of hepatitis C; shortly afterward, Wynonna embarked on a solo career. On her own, Wynonna charted five more Number One singles on the country music charts, and recorded multiple albums. She and Naomi briefly reunited in 1999 and 2000, charting one last single credited to The Judds, as well as receiving a Academy of Country Music nomination for Duo of the Year in 2001.
