A knock at the door interrupts and confuses the gang and it turns out to be Rachel's sister Jill, who has been cut off (for buying a boat for a friend), prompting Chandler to say "looks like we made friends with the wrong sister", and sent to the city by their father to "learn the value of money".
At Central Perk, Gunther admonishes Joey for giving away free food by taking the cost out of his tips, to which Joey asks "if it's free food, how come you're charging me for it?". Gunther then informs him that only it being someone's birthday entitles them to something free.
