It was originally released in Japan on March 10, 1990 between episodes 39 and 40. The film was re-released to DVD on November 14, 2006 in a box set titled "First Strike" and featuring Funimation's in-house voice cast. A remastered edition was released to Blu-Ray and DVD on May 27, 2008.
