Thomas S. Murphy was Chairman and CEO of Capital Cities through decades of fantastic growth. In 1985 Capital Cities merged with the larger ABC. At the time it was the the biggest media merger in history. He lead the company until it was bought out by Disney about 10 years later. Mr. Murphy has been lauded for his commitment to public service and volunteerism.
