He released a solo album, Tyg's in Space, in 1999 and played on former Go-Betweens member Grant McLennan's 1997 solo album In Your Bright Ray.
Tim was born in Wellington, New Zealand, but has lived in the UK. He eventually moved to Australia where he first became known in 80's band The Venetians and the band Flight X-7. He has also played drums for The Divinyls and a few other artists and produced Penny Flanagan's album, Light Sleeper in 1998.
