Lawrence Edward Smith (December 24, 1948 – July 18, 1999) was an American football defensive end in the National Football League.
Smith was a prep All-American at Charlton-Pollard High School in Beaumont, Texas.
He played college football at the University of Southern California as a defensive tackle. Smith was a member of the original wild bunch. There is a statue of him and the other four at USC's Heritage Hall.

Smith played in the National Football League from 1971 until 1976 with the Dallas Cowboys, the Houston Oilers, and the Buffalo Bills. He played in Super Bowl VI in 1972 while he was a member of the Dallas Cowboys.
