The Tottenham Court Road Crossrail Station is a proposed station on London's Crossrail transport scheme. The station is also part of a development to revitalise the Tottenham Court Road Tube Station, one of London's busiest stations, and the area of street directly above the station. The previous redevelopment of this area, at the time of the Centre Point building's construction, led to a number of social and transport problems - Centre Point being notorious for its homeless problem (a UK homeless charity subsequently took its name from the area), and traffic (both pedestrian and vehicular) congestion issues.
