Young Hurley (Caden Waidyatilleka) joins his father, David Reyes (Cheech Marin), over an old Camaro. He asks Hurley to start the car. When young Hurley states it won't work without a new carburetor, David assures him good things happen when you believe they will, and that in this world you have to "make your own luck." Hurley's father tells him he is leaving "for some work in Las Vegas" but will be "back before you know it." As David rides away, his mother, Carmen (Lillian Hurst) is looking sadly out the window and Hurley is eating a chocolate bar, given to him by his father.
