The Tryon Coterie, founded in 1947, was the oldest of Baylor University’s men’s social clubs. Try-C affiliated with Phi Delta Theta in 1977 it is now the Texas Lambda chapter of Phi Delta Theta. The chapter models itself as Phi Delta Theta - The Tryon Coterie. The Try-C’s started Sing!, Chili Cook-off, and off campus "illegal" dances among other things.
