"Tunguska" is a 1996 episode of The X-Files television series. It was the eighth episode broadcast in the show's fourth season. "Tunguska" was the first of a two part episode featuring the return of Alex Krycek and the agents coming into possession of a martian rock that contains alien life. Mulder travels to Russia with Krycek to find out more about the rock, where he is imprisoned in a Russian slave labor camp. Agent Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) is brought before the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and Terrorism, and refuses to tell them the location of agent Fox Mulder (David Duchovny). The narrative flashes back to 10 days earlier where a courier is subject to a search at customs in a Hawaii airport. The customs officer accidentally drops a glass canister he was transporting, exposing them to the black oily worms inside that infect the Customs Officer (as seen previously in the episodes "Piper Maru" and "Apocrypha").
