In 2003, Turk later signed with producer KENOEs' Laboratory Recordz, who released his last four albums. In 2005, Turk was convicted on Federal charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, a fugitive from justice in possession of a firearm, and an unlawful user addicted to a controlled substance in possession of a firearm. The charges arose from the shooting of a Tennessee police officer in early 2004. He was sentenced to 120 months of incarceration. In 2006, he entered an Alford plea in Tennessee state court to second-degree attempted murder, based on the same incident, and was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment.
