Valparaiso is located an hour southeast of downtown Chicago and is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. It is also 15 miles (24 km) south of Lake Michigan and the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. The 320-acre (1.3 km) campus as well as its main entrance are located off U.S. Highway 30 on the south side of the city and is the site of over sixty buildings and a number of academic resources.
