Walrus/Groon is a collaborative 12" EP between Merzbow (Japanese noise musician Masami Akita) and Japanese experimental doom band Boris, released on the Los Angeles-based Hydra Head label in 2007. It was first sold at the 2007 South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas.
The A side is a cover of "I Am the Walrus" by The Beatles. It most resembles the Spooky Tooth 1970 version, as opposed The Beatles original. The B side shares its name with a King Crimson improvisational piece. A different version of "Groon" appears on Switching Rethorics as "Vanlla Groon" (sic), featuring sampled drums/guitar and is credited to Merzbow only.
The album artwork is very reminiscent of Roger Dean and his illustrations for the band Yes, in particular the Close to the Edge cover.
The release consists of 5 different vinyl colors: black, yellow with green, white with green, white with yellow and clear with green.
