"we make thunder" arose from the ashes of chicago legends, "slim pickins". doomriff moved over to drums and andrews moved to guitars and songs. they then found tyler, who is now our musical director. jody anthony hits bass, snarls, and just generally keeps things real player. friesema wanted to call the band "the thunder tops", but was informed by miss patty that this name was simply "alright". she informed him that "we make thunder" was way better. we agree.
We Make Thunder play live every chance they get, usually to sell-out crowds. At their first show, the local fire marshall made an appearance to let it be known that there were too many people crammed into the small bar they played, creating a fire hazard.
Their live show has been seen by thousands, including some very famous musicians. Chuck Berry was overheard commenting...
