Westwood Secondary School was officially opened on 12 November 2002 by Dr Amy Khor, MP for Hong Kah GRC with the founding principal, Ms Kok Lee Kwang. Westwood has been featured publicly in the press for its schoolwide daily valued programmes to strengthen students' ability of perseverance, innovation, creativity, language and confidence such as "Rev-Up", "In Touch" and "Stand-and-Deliver".
